Do you feel Most Politician think Gujarati don't Vote,so they never approach Gujaratis. 

Some fact

317 year before (in 1692) Rupji Dhanji from Div came to Mumbai island & after that Gujaratis from all part of Gujarat  like surat, Ghogha, Halar, Zalawad,Girnar, Ahmdebad , Kutchh, Mangrol, Vad Nagar & Palanpur came to Mumbai and became Mumbaikar.

Parsi , Bhatia, Kapol ,Patidar Nagar, Anavil, Kutchhi , Meman,Khoja, Vohra, Jain , Brahmins & all other Gujarati  settle in Mumbai &  form Gujrati jati in to Gujarati Mahajati.

Gujarati played major role in developing Mumbai other than any other People.    

In British time Maharashtra ,Gujarat & some Part of Rajasthan was one & was called Mumbai Provision. In the Year 1960 Govt of India formed various Linguistic state Like Maharashtra , Gujarat , Punjab etc

In 1960 few people want to keep Mumbai in Gujarat State as city was having good population of Gujaraties where as some people want Mumbai as a indipendant state (like Delhi)
